My Camino Itenerary

The following itinerary is the one I hiked along the Camino Frances (the stretch of Camino running from St. Jean Pied de Port to Santiago). The distances are approximate and be aware, the Camino route can change slightly from time to time as modifications and improvements are made along the way.

Please keep in mind that the itenerary I followed is but one of a near infinite number of iteneraries one can choose. The decision of how far to walk each day is a matter of personal preference and physical ability. Some portions of the trail are more difficult than others; likewise, the weather can play an important role - torrential rain can prove difficult to navigate depending on the terrain.

I did not have an itenerary per se prior to beginning the Camino. Instead, I planned each day's course the night before using my simple guidebook from the Confraternity of St. James. I would take into consideration distances, my health, the difficulty of the terrain, and my overall progress (I wanted to make it to Santiago in approximately 4 weeks); I would then select a target destination for the next day and I would adjust as needed when actually on the trail.
